Johnson & Johnson is recruiting for a Vice President, Transformation Office in Raritan, NJ or near a Johnson & Johnson office in India, Switzerland, Belgium, or the United States.

Per our J&J Flex Policy, the expectation for this position is to work in the nearest Johnson and Johnson office 3-4 days per week and work from home 1-2 days per week.

Enterprise Quality is a comprehensive organization within J&J that focuses on ensuring the highest standards of quality & compliance. It encompasses a Quality Operations division that handles Computer System Validation (CSV), QMS Management, and Commercial Quality Shared Services, including specialized support for Transportation Operations and Temperature Control. Additionally, it includes a Transformation Office dedicated to steering strategic imperatives and enhancing the Quality & Compliance organization's strategy through initiatives like Data Strategy, Automated Product Release, and Digitalization of Quality Management Systems. The group further comprises a Data & Digital Strategy function tasked with developing and executing a holistic digital and data strategy to improve quality and compliance, covering areas such as Data Foundations, AI/ML & IoT technologies, Quality & Compliance Innovation, and Digital Assets validation. To facilitate the deployment of these strategic initiatives, the group employs two Deployment Offices for the MedTech and Innovative Medicines segments and maintains a global presence through three regional leaders managing operations in Asia Pacific (ASPAC), Europe, Middle East, Africa (EMEA), and the Americas.

The Transformation Office ensures efficient, measurable, and value-driven execution of the Q&C strategy, transformation portfolio, annual business planning cycles, and operational support for the office of Enterprise Quality VP.

As the leader of the Transformation Office, the Vice President partners with QCLT to provide strategic, organizational, leadership, operational and decision support to the Enterprise Q&C Transformation. The incumbent will work closely with the Quality & Compliance Leadership Team (QCLT) to help define CQO business strategy priorities and support execution of key strategic initiatives part of the Q&C's strategic transformation roadmap.

Duties will include but not limited to:

  • Partners with QCLT to facilitate future aspirational measures development, maintain prioritized BAM strategic roadmap, collaborate with deployment offices on execution and operationalizing the plan.
  • Determines approach and strategic direction for governance of data across Q&C to ensure consistent application of foundation elements supporting digital deployments which enable our overall Q&C strategy.
  • Engages externally to incorporate competitive peer set benchmarks around technology capabilities include AI, ML, IoT and then establish JJQC strategic positions on those, in partnership with relevant technology functions.
  • Serves as an intake funnel for external perspectives related to technology as well as all aspects of Q&C operation. Formulates internal positions and perspectives to share with QCLT and segments as part of strategic roadmap development. This element of strategy development ensures Q&C is progressing on a competitive trajectory to external peer groups, and internal business partners.
  • In partnership with segments, evaluates our Supplier Quality space to establish a collective strategy for managing supplier performance and risk as an input to our overall supply chain resilience efforts.
  • Partners with segments and Data and Digital strategy team to determine holistic approaches/strategy to digitizing our automated product release (APR) and quality management systems (QUIN, Comet) leveraging developed capabilities within the team. Partners with Deployment offices to operationalize the strategy.
  • Sets wholistic change management & communication strategy to evolve the organizational understanding, by creating strong vision, buy-in, avoiding resistance & friction, early adoptions by creating awareness for key initiatives around implementation of digital transformations and EQ communications.
  • Partners with JJLearn to translate J&J wide learning principles and define / set specific learning strategy within Q&C that supports our overall People strategy and ensures organization capability development in a parallel trajectory to our digital transformation.
  • Owns the related functions of portfolio management and the corresponding financial investment planning to support the strategic initiatives for the Q&C organization.
  • Works closely with Finance, HR, JJSC SI&D, Segment S&D Leads and other key stakeholders to drive the annual planning process and strategy execution and support key decision-making forums.
  • Manages the strategic planning cycle for allocating functional teams to priority segments initiatives, providing analysis, and structured project portfolio reviews.
  • Provides central oversight of global Q&C financial cycles in collaboration with Finance, including Financial Strategic Plan, budget planning & monitoring, and headcount management.
  • Drives and oversees priority projects and initiatives across the Q&C organization, ensuring alignment with short-term priorities and long-term strategy, while developing solutions to strategic and operational issues.


Key Responsibilities:

Strategic Direction for Transformation Office:

  • Build strong partnerships across a broad range of internal and external stakeholders.
  • Collaborate with QCLT to develop, maintain, and deliver the Q&C Strategy, translating it into strategic objectives, initiatives, and financial strategic plans. Manage the strategic planning cycle.
  • Define and drive the overall Transformation Office strategy to achieve Q&C Bold Ambition
  • Direct the strategic planning cycle, engaging cross-segment and functional teams for prioritization and decision-making support, conducting analysis and structured project portfolio reviews including budget considerations and resource allocation.
  • Lead Q&C leaders, Segment Strategy leaders and Segment Deployment Leads to establish the Q&C Long Range Financial Plan and Business Plans


Oversight:

  • Oversee Strategy & Deployment Office
    • Own and maintain the execution of Q&C Strategy to enable the realization of BAM objectives.
    • Direct the development and prioritization of strategic projects in alignment with partners, the BP, and the overall Q&C strategy. Collaborate with Finance to ensure appropriate evaluation for strategic initiatives.
    • Lead the consolidation of the Segment/Function Strategic Plan to form the Enterprise Q&C Strategic Plan
    • Drive the implementation of all governance processes to manage the portfolio of strategic programs and projects, including prioritization, resource allocation, and measurement against JJSC goals to ensure that business commitments are achieved.
    • Lead the development of a Post Go-Live Sustainability Framework to ensure the continuous success and effectiveness of initiatives after implementation.
  • Oversee Transformation Solutions
    • Govern the development, maintenance & execution of Enterprise BAM roadmaps to achieve strategic objectives and demonstrate organizational value.
    • Monitor progress of Customer Experience Engineering initiatives within MedTech and provide EQ's perspective and support as appropriate.
    • Oversee Data & Digital Strategy:
    • Lead the development and execution of Q&C digital and data strategy capabilities.
    • Define a clear strategic vision for the integration of digital and data across Quality & Compliance (Q&C) and the J&J Segments
  • Oversee the development of a comprehensive digital strategy roadmap aligning with organizational goals, enhancing quality, compliance, and operational efficiency.
  • Oversee Change Management & Communications
    • Guide the development and implementation of change management and communication plans to support Q&C strategy execution and internal operations.
  • Oversee Business Excellence & Value Realization
    • Drive strategy to support execution teams in achieving execution excellence and operational efficiency in all relevant delivery activities.
    • Drive the build and deployment of the Value Realization Framework that effectively articulate the value and benefits of strategic initiatives and create impactful communication to Q&C and J&J
  • Oversee Q&C Learning & Development
    • Provide strategic oversight and guidance for upskilling Q&C professionals, enhancing digital capabilities and supporting GxP & non-GxP L&D initiatives within Q&C

Qualifications

Education:

  • A minimum of a Bachelor's degree is required.
  • A Master's degree or higher is preferred.


Experience and Skills:

  • Minimum of 14 years of related work experience is required.
  • Functional knowledge of / experience in Quality & Compliance is required.

Key liaison to J&J Supply Chain strategy group and enterprise Q&C Strategy group. Preferred:

  • Experience in Supply Chain, Commercial, and/or R&D is preferred.
  • Experience with Six Sigma/Process Excellence tools, training and certification is preferred.
  • Organizational change management experience
  • SAP, Instantis or other portfolio management systems experience is preferred.
  • Project Management experience, to include resource management, FTE demand, risk analysis, cost optimization.
  • High level of proficiency in J&J applications & technologies (Office & productivity tools)


Other:

  • 20% international/domestic travel


The anticipated base pay range for this position is $188,000 to 345,000.

The compensation and benefits information set forth in this posting applies to candidates hired in the United States. Candidates hired outside the United States will be eligible for compensation and benefits in accordance with their local market.

The Company maintains highly competitive, performance-based compensation programs. Under current guidelines, this position is eligible for an annual performance bonus in accordance with the terms of the applicable plan. The annual performance bonus is a cash bonus intended to provide an incentive to achieve annual targeted results by rewarding for individual and the corporation's performance over a calendar/performance year. Bonuses are awarded at the Company's discretion on an individual basis.
