Job Description:

The Department of Medicine, Administration is seeking a full time Academic Program Specialist II. This department is the largest department in the University of Florida's College of Medicine with over 348 faculty and 1250 total employees in 12 subspecialty divisions, each with its own division chief, faculty and staff. This position works directly with the Vice Chair for Faculty Affairs and oversees the administrative activities for this unit within the Department's central administration. This position serves as an expert advisor for faculty participating in the promotion and tenure process or completing a mid-career review. Additional responsibilities include supporting faculty development activities, compiling data as requested, and providing advanced administrative support to the Vice Chair. The incumbent must be highly organized and motivated individual with a capacity for hard work, able to work within and oversee daily functions of a team and have strong customer service skills. This role receives and maintains confidential information and must interpret University and College policies and procedures regarding promotion and tenure.

Essential Functions;

Promotion and Tenure
Under oversight from the Academic Programs Specialist III and the Vice Chair for Faculty Affairs, support the promotion and tenure process for faculty within the Department of Medicine. The overall process spans many months and must ensure critical deadlines are met throughout the process for assigned faculty (15-25 per cycle). Access and utilize organizational tools and data repositories to support the individuals going up for promotion. Ensure applications are complete, orderly, and accurate.

Mid-Career Reviews
Under oversight from the Academic Programs Specialist III and the Vice Chair for Faculty Affairs, support the mid-career review process for assigned faculty within the Department of Medicine. The overall process spans many months and must ensure critical deadlines are met throughout the process for assigned faculty (15-25 per cycle). Access and utilize organizational tools and data repositories to support the individuals going up for promotion. Ensure applications are complete, orderly, and accurate.

Administrative Support
Provide administrative support for the activities of the office of faculty affairs as well as for the Vice Chair of Faculty Affairs. This includes scheduling meetings, workshops, and special events; compiling and disseminating data as requested; and organizing data repositories in support of faculty development. Must establish priorities and meet deadlines.

Other duties as assigned.

Expected Salary:

$45,000 - $52,000

Minimum Requirements:

Bachelor's degree and three years of relevant experience; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
