The Amazon Pay Strategic Account Sales team is responsible for strategic sales to new e-commerce merchants. The team is responsible for accelerating growth, expanding the adoption and usage of Amazon Pay in both new and existing verticals.
This role will be responsible for new business end-to-end, including understanding market dynamics, evaluating new merchant opportunities, conducting merchant outreach, negotiating term sheets and agreements and driving to execution. This role will also work across Amazon to utilize other products and services to create new and powerful value propositions for merchants.
The position requires someone who can work autonomously in a fast paced, highly demanding and ambiguous environment.
Successful candidates need to possess great business judgement, with a track record of strong project delivery, commercial negotiations and relationship management along with deep analytical acumen.
Key job responsibilities
- Be responsible for building strategic relationships with e-commerce merchants at the most senior levels
- Develop an account plan for building the business
- Identity new prospects that would benefit from Amazon Pay and identify a solution that fits their needs
- Become a thought leader in defining success criteria and understand business needs of e-commerce merchants in an ever-changing business environment
- Prepare and conduct business reviews with the senior management team regarding progress and roadblocks to closing new customers.
- Develop a framework for prioritizing merchant engagement based on various criteria and business levers
- Manage complex contract negotiations
- Work closely with account management team and assist the team to develop account plans to increase merchants adoption of Amazon Pay
- Conduct deep dive analysis on issues affecting the various merchant categories and establish a periodic reviews that addresses key business issues
- Drive content for internal business communications highlighting various initiatives, successes, and platform improvement opportunities through voice of the merchant.
- Be accountable for driving, measuring, and reporting on key inputs and outputs in Salesforce and other reporting systems.

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent, or 3+ years of sales or marketing work (like e-commerce, retail technology, SaaS) or equivalent experience
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
- 2+ years of inside sales experience
- Knowledge of procurement and source to pay methods at small and medium businesses
- Experience influencing at all levels within an organization, particularly at the executive level
- Experience exceeding sales targets using a consultative, solutions-focused approach or equivalent

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $62,100/year in our lowest geographic market up to $132,900/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company.
