The general pay range for this position is $74,000-$105,000per year. Base pay varies depending on job-related knowledge, skills, experience, and market location. In addition, RGA provides an annual bonus plan that includes all roles, and some positions are eligible for participation in our long-term equity incentive plan. RGA maintains a full range of health, retirement, and other employee benefits.

The Accounting Analyst - Financial Reporting analyzes, prepares and processes general expense entries, accruals, and reconciliations, prepares annual audited financials for certain subsidiaries in compliance with GAAP and coordinates certain analytic and reporting procedures, and prepares balance sheet analytics and follow-up with segment controllers on unusual variances.
Responsibilities
- Prepares consolidated GAAP variance analytics and reporting. Researches unusual analytic fluctuations and informs / advises Executive Director.
- Liaises with lines of business in maintaining inventory of treaties with various forms of collateral triggers. Analyzes trigger requirements and possible resolutions (e.g. collateral postings, recapture, assets in trust, etc.)
- Performs supervisory duties, including, but not limited to hiring, training, evaluating, coaching, and disciplining direct reports. Fosters a positive and engaged work environment. Mentors associates and provides guidance on associate development.
- Maintains debt covenant compliance with timely filings. Analyzes requirements needed for new facilities and changing covenants. Maintains and updates compliance matrix as needed.
- Coordinates balance sheet variance process in conjunction with the segment controllers, obtains appropriate sign-off on variances, and follows up as needed.
- Performs accounting and analysis for stock compensation and stock option grants / exercises / cancellations. Provides 123R compliant reporting disclosure.
- Handles limited monthly journal entry responsibilities for certain corporate processes and entities.
- Handles special accounting projects as assigned, which includes assisting with departmental SharePoint initiative.
Requirements
Education and Experience
Required:
- Bachelor's Degree in Accounting/Finance or equivalent related work experience
- 5-8 years accounting or auditing experience
Skills and Abilities
Required:
- Ability to perform accounting analysis and provide recommendations of policies, and procedures and interpretations and applications.
- Advanced knowledge of accounting/finance theory and applications and Statutory and GAAP accounting.
- Basic Word, intermediate Excel and SQL/Query skills.
- Ability to be flexible, take initiative, and demonstrate accountability.
- Intermediate oral and written communication skills demonstrating ability to share and impart knowledge.
- Ability to quickly adapt to new methods, work under tight deadlines and stressful conditions.
- Intermediate level of investigative, analytical and problem solving skills
