Job Description:

UF Information Technology (UFIT) is seeking an Accounting Specialist to join the Business Center, a unit within UFIT. The Accounting Specialist is a professional-level position within the Finance Team and will support the university's success through service and operational excellence.

Some key responsibilities and characteristics of this position are:
  • Manage UFIT accounts receivable collections for both external and internal customers of the core IT units
  • Perform specialized accounting work related to the administration and processing of the daily operations of the UFIT Services chargeback application
  • Coordinate the relationships between UFIT Service Providers and UFIT customers (faculty, staff, and external units) by handling questions, interpreting and administering UFIT policies and procedures, and resolving billing or financial-related problems
  • Gather and record UFIT internal and external billing, financial, and tax-related supporting documents and data, and reconcile monthly to ensure compliance with federal, state, and University policies, procedures, and regulations

Benefits

Full-time TEAMS employees will accrue vacation leave at a rate of 6.769 hours biweekly/22 days annually and sick leave at 4 hours biweekly/13 days annually. In addition, employees are eligible for ten paid holidays each year.

Vacation-accruing TEAMS employees are eligible for four personal leave days/32 hours per year, assuming full-time status, and are intended to give the flexibility to enable units to close from December 26 to 31, when possible, determined on a unit-by-unit basis. In addition to paid time off, the University of Florida offers a very competitive benefits package.

Expected Salary:

$48,000-$52,000; commensurate based on education and experience.

Minimum Requirements:

A bachelor's degree in an appropriate area of specialization and one year of appropriate experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
