Accounts Payable Specialist

Accounts Payable Specialist:

The Utica Comets, Utica City FC, and MVG Restaurants are looking for an Accounts Payable Specialist to join our team and work with our accounting department to oversee our organization's expenses.

Accounts Payable Specialist responsibilities include processing payments, verifying invoices, and performing account reconciliations as needed.

Ultimately, you will work with our accounting team to ensure our organization's expenditures are accurate and our accounting practices are standardized across the organization.

Responsibilities:

• Charge expenses to accounts and cost centers and control petty cash spending
• Verify vendor accounts, pay vendors, and resolve invoices or payment discrepancies
• Reconcile account transactions with the general ledger
• Controls access, reconciliation, and coding of credit cards
• Perform recordkeeping and prepare financial reports
• Keep informed of regulatory requirements and best practices in accounting
• Assists with annual 1099 preparation and assists with special projects as needed

Accounts Payable Requirements and Qualifications

• BS degree in Finance, Accounting, or Business Administration
• One to two years of related experience as an accounts payable specialist (or general accounting)
• Experience with MS Office and QuickBooks online.
• Experience with Quadient Accounts Payable AP Software is not required but is a plus.
• Able to calculate and manage accounting records
• Knowledge of basic bookkeeping and accounting payable principles
