Position Overview
The Honors College invites applicants for an adjunct (part-time) instructor to guide students through completing a four-credit hour Honors capstone course. The instructor will help students apply community engagement theory and best practices while deepening their understanding of social issues through community asset mapping, peer-reviewed research, documentaries, and reflection. Student cohorts will identify and address an issue in one of nine priority areas: education, job creation, workforce preparation, social stability, healthy community, transportation, changing demographics, quality of life, and the James River.
Required Qualifications
•Demonstrated experience working in and fostering a diverse faculty, staff, and student environment or commitment to do so as a staff member at VCU
•Master's degree
Preferred Qualifications
•Postsecondary teaching experience preferred
