JOB SUMMARY

Administrative Assistant provides a full array of administrative management and support services that include, office management, data collection, and some aspects of budget administration for the School of Nursing. This staff member must work independently and exercise good judgment and discretion. This is a Full-Time (40 hours), 12-month, hourly, benefited position. Some responsibilities may change. Provides administrative support to the Chair and faculty of the undergraduate BSN Program. Serves as the primary point of contact and liaison between administration, students, and guests. Special projects as assigned.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Maintain the day-to-day operation of the office by creating and approving room reservations/events, maintaining/inventorying supplies and departmental property, disseminating the weekly virtue and PowerPoint announcements, inputting work orders, giving departmental tours, etc. Assists the Director of Operations with day-to-day facilities and operational tasks. Coordinates senior pictures with photographer and oversees the event. Provide excellent customer service by serving any concerns, issues, or questions presented by students, parents, faculty, or alumni. Participate in new department initiatives and manage other projects as assigned while remaining abreast of existing and emerging technologies, processes, products, services, and leading industry performance benchmarks. Supports special projects as assigned by administration. Strictly adheres to Liberty University policies, representing the University in an exemplary manner. Works effectively as a team member, embracing and fostering LU's Christian model and Mission - Training Champions for Christ.

Minimum Qualifications
  • Associate's degree with emphasis in business, human resources, education, or a related field.
  • 2-4 years of experience in an office setting.
  • Candidates must have a demonstrated ability to learn and efficiently use complex computing applications such as Microsoft Office Suite, Canvas, Blackboard, CRM, Banner Systems.

Preferred Qualifications
  • Bachelors' degree in business, human resources, education, or a related field is preferred.

WORKING CONDITIONS

Work Environment

The working environment in which one will typically perform the essential functions of this position is a climate-controlled office setting. It is well lighted and the noise level is moderate.

Driving Requirements

Use of one's personal vehicle (or LU vehicles) may be required for travel in the performance of the essential functions of this position. Proof of a valid Virginia driver's license, an acceptable DMV record, and liability insurance is required.
