Description
The Administrative Assistant serves the President by managing the daily office routine working independently and completing specific work projects relative to the operation of the total hospital. S erves the Board of Directors as Assistant Secretary and as coordinator of all Board functions. Serves the patients and community by making sure the administrative offices are run efficiently and effectively.

Requirements:

EDUCATION

  • Two years of relevant college work or a minimum of five years of high-level clerical work in a professional setting
  • Completion of a course in office supervision or management is preferred.

EXPERIENCE

  • Hospital experience preferred

LICENSURE/REGISTRATION/CERTIFICATION

  • Notary Public License for the State of North Carolina

OTHER SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS

  • Knowledge of standard office equipment.
  • Ability to take notes in fast-paced meetings with accuracy.
  • Verbal ability to communicate with hospital personnel, physicians, Board of Directors, and outside personnel.
  • Numerical ability to assemble data.
  • Tact and diplomacy in representing the hospital's management to the public, hospital patients, and employees.
  • Initiative to perform duties without close supervision.

WORK ENVIRONMENT

  • Occasionally subject to irregular hours.
  • Occasional pressure due to multiple calls and inquiries.
  • Subject to many interruptions.
  • Subject to varying and unpredictable situations.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

  • Work is sedentary, consisting of sitting and/ or walking throughout most of the day.
  • Accurate visual perception is necessary to perform daily tasks.
  • Hearing and speech are required for frequent communication with staff and others.
  • Motor coordination and finger dexterity are prerequisites for operating office machines and computer.
