Summary:
This individual is responsible for performing a variety of secretarial duties including, but not limited to, typing of correspondence and reports, transcribing dictation, handling of incoming and outgoing mail, complete total payroll timekeeping.

Responsibilities:
1. Order and stock office supplies for the Unit(s).
2. Receive and handle telephone messages as appropriate.
3. Distribute Nursing position requisitions to Nurse Managers and Human Resources after approval retaining the original requisitions for actual hire date of employee.
4. Type documents from rough drafts.
5. Perform administrative duties for Director, Nursing Operations, Director, Nursing Support Services and Nurse Manager; maintains a working knowledge of duties performed by Executive Assistant-Nursing and functions in this position when needed.
6. Complete assigned projects within specified time.
7. Support Patient Services Department by being flexible in working hours, as specific needs dictate.
8. Complete the total payroll process for Unit(s) each pay period to enable a continued working knowledge of the complete nursing payroll system and functions in this role as assigned.
9. Assist with weekly time schedules as assigned.
10. Support and promote the Wayne Memorial Hospital Guest Relations Policy.
11. Provide ongoing compliance with Worker's Compensation Policy.
12. Perform other departmental duties as assigned.

Education
• High school graduate or equivalent
• One to two years of specialized training in secretarial duties required

Licensure/Certification
• None

Experience
• Two or more years experience in a Hospital or similar setting preferred

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
• Ability to read, write and communicate effectively in English.
• Highly proficient with MS Office and able to learn new software rapidly.

Valid NC Driver's License: No
If driving a Wayne UNC Vehicle, must be 21 years old and MVR must be approved by Risk Management.
