QUALIFICATIONS :

Applicants must have a minimum of a master's degree in School Administration or related field. Education Specialist or Doctorate preferred. Alabama Class A Certificate or above in School Administration.

Five years of successful administrative experience with three years of minimum experience at the high school or middle school level. Previous high school level experience in the area of Career Technical Education. Previous experience building relationships with business and industry partners, and post-secondary partners.

Proven success as an instructional leader at the high school level. Knowledge/skills in oral and written communication, collaboration, assessment/measure/evaluation, organization, planning, law & policy, problem solving, innovation, technology utilization & management, school operations/management, professional responsibilities, leadership of human resources, public relations and building community support.

Must be able to organize complex data and engage in research activities including statistical analysis used to drive instructional programs and support grant applications.

JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Provide advice, support, and supervision to all Pike County Schools' Career Technical Education programs located at the Troy Pike Regional Center for Technology and schools.
  • Provide advice and support to Career Tech Director.
  • Monitor state and federal budgets and compliance monitoring.
  • Approve all Career Technical Education program applications, budgets, and spending.
  • Provide advice, support, and supervision to all Pike County CTE programs and Academy Programs located at the Center for Advanced Academics and Accelerated Learning Center.
  • Provide advice and support to the Center for Advanced Academics and Accelerated Learning Center Director.
  • Provide advice, support, and supervision Pike County STEM programs located at the Center for Advanced Academics and Accelerated Learning Center and support local school STEM Initiatives to include Cognia STEM Accreditation.
  • Serve as Liaison between Pike County Schools' and local, state, and national workforce development partners.
  • Serve as Liaison between Pike County Schools' and local, state, and national post-secondary partners.
  • Serve as Liaison between Pike County Schools' and local, state, national governmental agencies to secure funding to grow workforce development programs to increase post high school graduation opportunities.
  • Serve as Liaison between Pike County Schools' and local, state, and national organization such as the Pike County Economic Development Corporation, Chamber of Commerce, WOW, etc. to improve and expand opportunities for students.
  • Provide advice, support, and supervision to Pike County Schools ASCEND Program (All Students Can Experience, Navigate and Discover) Transition Program. Includes providing guidance school counselors, case managers, social services providers, and graduation coaches.
  • Work in collaboration with Pike County Schools' special education senior staff, principals, and faculty to ensure appropriate transition programs and plans exist for all students that will lead to high school graduation and entry into the workforce or post-secondary education.
  • Work in collaboration with Pike County Schools' prevention and support senior staff, principals, and faculty to ensure programs exist for all at-risk students that will lead to high school graduation and entry into the workforce or post-secondary education. Includes assisting with pathways to success for 26-credit pathway students and drop out recovery programs for students.
  • Lead the development of Alabama's Career Pathway diploma option for students in accordance with state guidelines.
  • Monitor college and career readiness data, and other related data such as post-secondary tracking, number of students requiring post-secondary remediation, etc.
  • Seek grant funding to expand opportunities in area of responsibility.
  • Facilitate partnerships with private institutions and other public schools to expand Career Technical Education opportunities.
  • Represent Pike County Schools at all local, state, and national meetings and events in matters related to Career Technical Education and Workforce Development.
  • Perform other duties, to include attending meetings and making presentations, as may be assigned to the position by law, the local school superintendent and/or local board of education, and by rules and regulations of the State Board of Education.
