Job Summary
The Division of Public Safety and Security(DPSS) University Security Services (USS) department is looking for an Administrative Coordinator. We are a full-service law enforcement agency responsible for providing police services to all areas of our campus community. Our mission is to contribute to and promote a safe and secure community while respecting the rights and dignity of all persons using the facilities and programs of the University of Michigan.
Reporting to the Protective Security Associate Director, you will provide administrative support by coordinating special projects for the protective security team and DPSS.

The Division of Public Safety and Security (DPSS) leads all public safety functions within the university, including police, security, and emergency management, and offers an integrated approach to safety and security, operating 24 hours a day, seven days a week, 365 days a year. DPSS combines Ann Arbor, Dearborn, and Flint operations to provide students, visitors, faculty, and staff with a safe and secure environment. Through our partnerships across the university and local, state, and federal law enforcement agencies, we use a blended service model to meet the needs of our community and exceed expectations.

Work Schedule
This is a hybrid role, with approximately half of the time in person and a flexible schedule between the hours of 9-5. You must be within a commutable distance to the Ann Arbor Campus. Your onsite work will take place at our Madison Street office. Some evening and weekend hours may be needed.
Modes of Work
Positions that are eligible for hybrid or mobile/remote work mode are at the discretion of the hiring department. Work agreements are reviewed annually at a minimum and are subject to change at any time, and for any reason, throughout the course of employment. Learn more about the work modes .
Additional Information
All members of DPSS are considered Campus Security Authorities (CSAs) under The Jeanne Clery Disclosure of Campus Security Policy and Campus Crime Statistics Act. As such, you are required to report Clery reportable offenses that come to your attention. DPSS employees must complete Clery Compliance Training within the first 14 days of employment and annually thereafter.

Responsibilities*
- Administer and oversee special projects. May conduct research studies, prepare reports and project plans, maintain records, advise departments, and ensure regulatory or company policy compliance for special projects or ongoing programs.
- Assist Protective Security with administrative support in varying capacities including executive protection, special events, and strategic intelligence that support the critical mission of the University.
- Help coordinate security operations for special events.
- Help with data mining and situational information reports.
- Coordinate with DPSS employees and other University departments to complete financial transactions, tracking, and billing for special events.
Required Qualifications*
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent combination of education and experience
- 1+ years of professional work experience planning for special events
- Experience initiating and maintaining productive and collaborative relationships with internal and external constituencies and diverse audiences
- Experience working with sensitive and confidential information
- Experience working with students, staff, faculty and members of other departments across the University
- History of customer focus, teamwork, and creativity while prioritizing assignments and deadlines
- Maintain compliance with DPSS appearance and grooming standards
- Excellent computer skills with Microsoft Office (Word & Excel) and Google Workspace
