Administrative & Fiscal Assistant

Job Description

The School of Animal Sciences is seeking to hire an Administrative and Fiscal Assistant. The successful candidate would provide fiscal support to our Extension Office as well as manage the wage payroll for the Dairy Farm and provide back-up support for the School's wage payroll. This person would work closely with the farm managers and the Director of the School to establish and monitor farm budgets, provide analytical data, and ensure policy and procedures are being met. The successful candidate would also perform the monthly reconciliation of the P-Cards for the School. The candidate should be highly organized, detail-oriented and show independent thinking skills.

Required Qualifications

Experience providing fiscal support in an academic or professional setting; Knowledge and expertise with the Microsoft Office Suite; Strong, effective communication skills with a diverse clientele base; Experience working cooperatively with co-workers and the general public.

Preferred Qualifications

Familiarity with Banner, Hokie Mart and purchasing procedures; TimeClock Plus, New Hire Center and HR policies and procedures; familiarity/experience with Chrome River.
