Why does the job exist?

The Administrative Operations Manager I will:
  • Train divisional staff on federal grants for the Income Support, Behavioral Health Services, Child Support Services and Medical Assistance Divisions;
  • Work in conjunction with the Grants Management Bureau ensuring federal expenditures are fully reimbursed and federal funding is fully utilized;
  • Work with the divisions ensuring expenditures are recorded accurately as they relate to the federal grants the program managers oversee.


How does it get done?

The Administrative Operations Manager I is responsible for:
  • Working with Grants Management Bureau and other Health Care Authority (HCA) bureaus ensuring federal funding is being properly utilized;
  • Working with HCA program staff ensuring federal expenditures are correctly recorded and grant of awards are being reconciled and properly tracked;
  • Working with division staff to understand federal financial reporting and ensure that their programs are being properly monitored;
  • Serving as a backup to assist the Grants Management Bureau with federal draw downs, federal financial reporting and grant reconciliations.

Ideal Candidate

The Ideal Canidate has:
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills;
  • Experience in accounting including reconciliation of complex accounting entries;
  • Analytical and critical thinking skills;
  • Experience multi-tasking;
  • Experience working with Microsoft Excel and Word.


Minimum Qualification

A Bachelor's Degree in any field of study from an accredited college or university and six (6) years of professional level experience with a tactical impact directly related to the purpose of the position defined by the agency at the time of recruitment. Any required licensure, certification or registration shall be defined at the time of recruitment and will be in addition to the above requirements.

Employment Requirements

Must possess and maintain valid driver's license.

Working Conditions

Work is performed in an office setting with exposure to Visual/Video Display Terminal (VDT) and extensive personal computer and phone usage. Some sitting, standing, bending and reaching may be required.
