Advanced Practice Provider (APRN/PA) Vascular Surgery

The Tampa General Hospital/USF Vascular Surgery Service is seeking highly skilled advanced practice providers to join their rapidly growing, fast paced and innovative practice specializing in the management of the regions most acute and complex vascular conditions.

The Vascular Surgery service is a teaching service for USF Vascular Surgery and General Surgery residents. The Vascular Surgery APP provides care in the pre and post op clinical setting and care coordination through daily multidisciplinary rounds on the Vascular stepdown floor and the Vascular ICU using an organized, multidisciplinary team approach to provide continuity of care. Additionally, this position involves some outpatient clinical duties overseeing patients for post operative follow up care.

The Vascular Surgery service currently consists of 7 highly skilled vascular surgeons who specialize in a wide range of vascular conditions. In addition to routine vascular procedures, our surgeons perform cutting edge endovascular surgeries for complex aortic disease, revascularization surgeries for acute limb ischemia and lifestyle limiting peripheral artery disease, as well as minimally invasive procedures such as transcarotid artery revascularization.

The Vascular Surgery APP:

-Conducts and documents in the electronic record history/physical examinations, admission workups and consults including assessments and plans in collaboration with supervising physician.

-Co-manages patient care in collaboration with the multidisciplinary team.

-Evaluates patients as needed for pre- and post-procedure complications, change in medical condition or other patient/RN concerns.

-Participates in daily rounds on hospital patients, monitoring therapy and providing continuity of care.

-Counsels' patients/family on condition and pre-/post-surgical / procedural care.

-Facilitates discharge planning and patient throughput while partnering to ensure world class outcomes.

Qualifications

PA and/or NP, with Acute Care or Gerontology certification is eligible for this role. Vascular Surgery experience is preferred. Current licensure as Advanced Practice Registered Nurse or Physician Assistant in the State of Florida.
