Job Summary:
This position is responsible for operating field equipment, performing field operations, vehicle and equipment maintenance, dairy facility maintenance, and manure system maintenance. This position will occasionally work independently on maintenance projects in the dairy facilities and will often work on projects as part of a team. Aptitude for skills such as mechanics, basic plumbing and electrical, and fabrication is necessary. General knowledge of field operations and crop production are also critical. This position is also required to maintain a valid commercial driver's license or have the ability to obtain one within a year. This position will occasionally be required to work nights and/or weekends.

Responsibilities: Operates basic or complex equipment, applies pesticides, and performs physical labor to maintain institutional agriculture in support of institutional goals.
  • 45% Operates, cleans, and repairs basic and complex agricultural machines and equipment to ensure safety and operable functionality and to adhere to established rules, policies, and regulations
  • 30% Stages equipment and machines in preparation of agricultural activities
  • 15% Maintains organization of designated facilities and associated supplies, notifies appropriate entities of damaged materials or the need for supply replenishment
  • 10% Documents completion of duties according to established policies and procedures

-Experience in operating agricultural equipment
-Experience in equipment repair and maintenance

Preferred:
-Experience working on a dairy farm
-Experience with building repair and maintenance
-Experience with welding
License/Certification:

Currently possess or able to acquire within one year of employment
Work Schedule:
Normal hours are 8:00am - 4:30pm, Monday through Friday. Position may be on call some holiday, weekends, and other times outside of normal work hours.

The anticipated salary range for this position is $21.41 - $22.00. However, final salary will depend on experience and qualifications.
