About the Position:

The Virginia State Police is seeking a collaborative and innovative team player to serve as a full time Agency Management Analyst within the Sex Offender and Crimes Against Minors Registry (SOR) at its State Police Headquarters in Chesterfield County, Virginia. This position oversees the classification of registered offenders and the preparation of documents for upcoming court cases and testifies as custodian of records across the state of Virginia in fail to register cases; supervises the daily operations of the Sex Offender and Crimes Against Minors Registry (SOR) Unit and its staff of seven Program Support Technicians and five Program Support Technicians Senior; applies the law as it relates to sex offenders and assists with interpreting criminal history records; and ensures that sex offender registrations/re-registrations are in compliance in §9.1-900 - §9.1-918 of the Code of Virginia, that staff make proper decisions on information contained in records for regulatory compliance, and that all SOR letters, reports, and all research requirements meet the legislative due dates.

Minimum Qualifications

•Working knowledge of supervisory principles and practices; and of the court/criminal justice system.
•Skill in operating computers and using Microsoft Office applications.
•Demonstrated ability to supervise paraprofessional staff; to manage and analyze large amounts of data that is in various stages of the administrative legal process; to perform complex records research and enter data as needed; to interpret and apply SOR policies, procedures, and regulations; to communicate and compose correspondence in English; to provide court testimony; and to work independently with limited supervision, making independent decisions.
•Experience in researching and overseeing the processing of legal documents and records; of gathering and reporting large amounts of data; and of carrying out supervisory tasks.
•Must be VCIN certified which requires either U.S. citizenship or a lawful permanent resident of the United States and eligible for naturalization.
•Must be willing to work overtime and weekends as required.
•High School Diploma or GED equivalent.
