Summary

This position is located in the Board of Immigration Appeals (BIA), Executive Office for Immigration Review (EOIR), U. S. Department of Justice. Incumbent serves as a member of the BIA Program Management Team that is responsible for the design and coordination of a wide range of projects related to BIA/EOIR information systems.

This is a Competitive Service position; additional positions may be filled from this announcement within 90 days of certificate issuance.

Clarification from the agency

Duties

Duties include but are not limited to the following:
  • Reviews comprehensive automated reports or reporting requirements from various EOIR databases to be used in conducting evaluative and analytical assessments of BIA management operations.
  • Generates reports of findings from analyses which provide recommendations on specific courses of action to enhance case management and legal procedures in BIA.
  • Responds to special taskings and requirements imposed directly by senior leadership and/or Departmental personnel on an as required basis, to include data calls.
  • Provides assistance to management officials in analyzing system design input and output requirements.
  • Provides technical support to management officials, staff attorneys and support staff in the preparation and presentation of data using computer-based applications such as spreadsheets, presentation graphics and other automated and analytical tools.

In order to qualify for the Management & Program Analystposition, you must meet the following minimum qualifications:

FOR THE GS-12 LEVEL:

Specialized Experience:
Applicants must have at least one or more full-time years (12-months) of specialized work experience, equivalent to at least the GS-11 grade level in the Federal service, performing the following duties:
  • Preparing regular and recurring reports;
  • Monitoring administrative activities to track information and inform leadership;
  • Gathering information to assist higher-level staff in analyzing information for a variety of administrative studies; and
  • Applying knowledge of management principles, organizational theory, and techniques of analysis and evaluation to identify, analyze, and recommend solutions to problems.
