Chipton-Ross is seeking 3 Aircraft Mechanic II's for a contract opportunity in San Antonio, TX.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
o Perform efforts associated with sealing, painting, shimming, and preserving structure and systems in accordance with standard repair processes.
o Demonstrates the capability to read and interpret engineering drawings, technical orders, process specification, and retrofit requirements to perform modification/repair.
o Use of tooling assemblies and fixtures for depot level modification and repair of structural parts.
o A detailed knowledge of aircraft unique tools such as test equipment, torque wrenches, dial indicators, micrometers, cable tensiometers, sheet metal brakes and sheers, etc. is required.
o Perform efforts associated with flight controls installation, removal and rigging. Landing gear and servicing of aircraft.
o Perform essential component change outs for example servo pumps, filters and engine components.
o The mechanic will be required to access aircraft data via computer systems and initiate on-line parts and discrepancy requests.
o Able to prioritize workload to maintain schedules on assigned projects.
o Ensure that all equipment is used in accordance with established safety and operating procedures.
o Diagnose and correct malfunctions occurring in assembly processes.
o Use any and all precision measuring instruments, gauges, tools, etc., necessary to check dimensions and conformance to quality requirements.
o Maintain necessary certifications, licenses and permits as required for assigned work.
o Work statement is a non-managerial role, non-leadership role
Ability to perform the following requirements:
o The candidate must be able to ascend and descend vertical work ladders, work in confined spaces, and lift loads of approximately 35 pounds.
o Exposure to noise, working on elevated platforms.
o Use personal protective gear for face, eyes, ears, hand, and arms as required.
o Pass visual acuity and color perception tests.
o Read, write, and comprehend the English language.
o Handle, use, and dispose of hazardous material.
o Obtain & maintain training certifications as required to support assignment responsibilities.
o Occasional (1 to 3 hrs.) finger manipulation.
o On occasion, a 2-person lift may be necessary for weights greater than 50 lbs.
o Frequent reaching overhead (3 to 6 hrs.).
o Frequent walking on flat surfaces.
o Frequent standing flat or uneven surfaces.
o Frequent balancing on a ladder, steps, or uneven surfaces.
o Occasional climbing on 3-12 ft ladders or stands.
o Rotation of head/neck, sitting, crawling, squatting, bend/stoop, lying down, and operate foot controls for an extended period of time.
o Occasional contact with metals.
o Frequent exposure to noise.
HARD REQUIREMENTS:
o 4+ years in those duties as previously described for satisfactory performance.
o 4+ years of on-aircraft Fighter General maintenance.
o 4+ years of experience working various aircraft exterior and interior systems such as: hydraulic, flight control, monuments, landing gears, fuel systems, and engines.
o 4+ years fixed wing experience.
o Knowledgeable in shop mathematics and practices.
o Experience in working with schematics, specifications, assembly drawings and standard operating procedures.
o Proficient in computer skills including but not limited to: aircraft related systems and basic office software.
o Willing and able to work any shift (Must be able & willing to work various shifts and / or an alternate baseline schedule that may frequently change to support mission requirements and may include weekends and holidays; Mission requirements and / or workload may require both scheduled and unscheduled overtime)
o Successful completion of training is a contingency for this assignment - OJT or formal classroom training.
PREFERRED REQUIREMENTS:
o Currently possess an FAA A&P License or Military Technical School equivalent.
o Experience performing aircraft engine runs, and engine borescope inspections.
o Operate a forklift, mobile crane, and riding type electric powered elevating equipment to accomplish work assignment.
EDUCATION:
Accredited High School Diploma or Equivalent.
WORK HOURS:
Full-Time
