Animal Lab Technician

Piper Health & Sciences is seeking an Animal Lab Technician to join a growing life sciences research company in the Lansing, MI area. This is a perfect opportunity for entry-level candidates who are looking to gain direct experience in animal sciences or laboratory research studies.

Responsibilities for the Animal Lab Technician include:
• Daily observation and care of research animals, including feeding, watering, and maintaining a clean environment.
• Ensure proper documentation of completed tasks within the laboratory.
• Perform technical tasks with animals including weighing, identification techniques, and performing euthanasia, as needed.
• Operate autoclaves, cage washers, and rack washers to sanitize cages and equipment.
• Perform documentation review to ensure compliance with laboratory and safety guidelines.

Qualifications for the Animal Lab Technician include:
• Prior education and/or experience working with animals in a laboratory or research capacity is preferred, but not required.
• Ability to work a 40-hour week with occasional potential for overtime.
• Minimum of a High School Diploma/GED is required with relevant experience, Associate's degree in a related scientific field is preferred without prior experience.

Compensation for the Animal Lab Technician include:
• Salary Range: approximately $16.00 - $19.00 hourly, commensurate with experience
