Must qualify at the area wide level by completing the Personal Qualifications Standards for every attraction/asset contained under the assigned area.

JOB SUMMARY:
Responsible for assisting multiple venues with mission critical support in the areas of preventative and corrective maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair of animation, special effects, and show/effects control systems and specialized Engineering approved project work on animatronic, interactive show effects systems. Must qualify at the area wide level by completing the Personal Qualifications Standards for every attraction/asset contained under the assigned area.
MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES:
- This includes changing time-limited parts, calibrating equipment per OEM specifications, and cleaning, lubricating, and maintaining equipment. Performs repairs to equipment due to safety, reliability, or show quality issues found during PM's or downtimes to animated show/effects figures and equipment. Responds and assists in recovery and repair of show equipment.
- Performs other duties as assigned: To include annual teardown/rebuild of animation. Shop repair or reprogramming of animation. Annual replacement of animation in field or hot swap replacement of animation in field.
- Troubleshoots down to failed component level using multiple forms of test equipment, schematics, prints, and other resources. Detailed Documentation of all findings and work performed throughout process of troubleshooting and repairs.
- Provide input and entry into CMMS system and log completion of inspections, corrective action, and/or repairs made and list applicable parts used.
- Performs modifications per UO Creative, UO Engineering or OEM specifications.
- Completes PQS qualifications of assigned venues. Helps train new technicians to do venue specific PM work orders, recovery procedures, and processes.
- Removes, clean and inspect costume, skin, or FRP as need from animation for PM's, repairs, or replacement. Works in conjunction with Creative Fabrication department to provide real time, in service feedback on repair requirements. Evaluates and develops process and procedures to increase reliability and show quality of animated show/effects.
- Understands and actively participates in Environmental, Health & Safety responsibilities by following established UO policy, procedures, training and team member involvement activities.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
SCOPE:
Responsible for inspection, troubleshooting and repair of animation, special effects, and show control systems resort wide.
EDUCATION:
- High school degree or GED is required;
- Technical school is preferred.
- Associate's degree in Electronics is preferred.
- Other: Ten years of experience working on theme park animation as a show control or mechanical technician in lieu of degree.
EXPERIENCE:
- 3-5 years' experience in troubleshooting and repair of complex electro-mechanical systems, as well as pneumatic, hydraulic and mechanical systems either in the theme park industry or other industrial industries;
- or equivalent combination of education and experience.
ADDITIONAL INFORMATION:
- Special requirements for certain specific venues may require the operation of controlled decent devices down severely angled lifts. Training is required and will be provided prior to performing the inspections.
- Special requirements for certain specific venues may require the operation of high reaches greater than 85ft. Training is required and will be provided prior to performing the inspections. The team member will be expected to remain in the position for a minimum of two years due to the extensive training.
