The place of performance for this contract is in Alexandria, VA or Rosslyn, VA.The Applications Engineers II (AEII) must have experience with network management and analysis tools such as Solar Winds. The AEII must have a solid working technical knowledge of software applications, protocols, and standards; hands-on hardware troubleshooting experience; knowledge of network security measures; and of applicable data privacy practices and lawsMUST HAVE TOP SECRET CLEARANCE WITH UPGRADE TO SCI.ResponsibilitiesJob Responsibilities:
  • Ensures the stable operation and efficient performance of various applications.
  • Monitors and manages various hardware and equipment, including access control devices,
  • Analyzes application performance across the organization's LAN and WAN infrastructure.
  • Provides performance statistics and reports.
  • Identifies and remedies system faults.
  • Administers hardware and software upgrades for security network equipment.
  • Performs research and development.
  • Develops, implements and maintains policies, procedures and associated training plans for network resource administration, appropriate use, and disaster recovery.
  • Performs network asset management, including maintenance of network component inventory and related documentation and technical specifications information.
  • Administers and maintains user accounts, permissions and access rights.
  • Recommends, schedules and performs system improvements, upgrades and repairs.
  • Interacts with vendors, outsourcers and contractors to secure network products and services.
  • Must be able to provide periodic 24/7 on call support
QualificationsMinimum Qualifications:
  • Must have a degree in the field of computer science or a related discipline is preferred.
  • IT certifications are a plus
Experience:
  • Three years or more of directly related experience is preferred.
