Location: Houston, TX 77002
Schedule: 3 days onsite, 2 days remote
Length: 8-12 month contract
Compensation: $66-79/hr w2
As anApplication Engineer your responsibilities may include but are not limited to:
  • Develop domain knowledge and business process understanding.
  • Work with product owner and stakeholders to elicit business requirements and refine into actionable plans.
  • Design systems that meet customer needs and align to architecture guardrails.
  • Deploy and support business applications.
  • Configure and integrate vendor-sourced enterprise software with other internal systems.
  • Iterate systems with enhancements and bug fixes.
  • Actively participate in an integrated DevOps Team utilizing Agile methodologies with a strong change management focus.
  • Provide daily operational support for multiple applications by troubleshooting incidents, identifying root causes and solutions, resolving problems, designing, and implementing configuration changes, and monitoring performance.
  • Communicate proactively and respond quickly to production issues and project work with a strong customer focus.
  • Monitor interfaces/data loads, administer security, and provide feedback/solutions on application performance.
  • Identify areas for improvement and collaborate with team members to address tactical and strategic issues.
  • Develop and maintain support documentation.
  • Ensure IP Compliance on systems and software as appropriate.
Required Qualifications:
  • 2+ years of industry-relevant experience.
  • Bachelor's degree in information systems or related fields.
  • Motivated, flexible, self-directed, works productively with minimal supervision, and a high degree of ownership.
  • Demonstrated application of strong analytical and problem-solving skills to identify, communicate, and resolve issues.
  • Strong communication (written/verbal) and facilitation skills with solid ability to convey business and technical information to a diverse audience Ability to work independently and in a team environment.
  • Proficient in scripting to automate activities.
  • Experience providing design, testing, and implementation support for internally driven platform deployment or lifecycle projects, and/or customer-facing projects.
  • Knowledge of, and experience in technology standards and controls that lead to the planning, design, development, testing, deployment, and operations of applications in a secure fashion (DevSecOps).
  • Knowledge of features and services for integration and communication among applications, APIs, databases, and technology platforms on premise and in the cloud.
  • Knowledge and hands-on experience with as many of the following technologies as possible: C#, Power BI, PowerApps, Ansible, Python, Java , Azure , APIs , RESTful web services , databases, SQL, html, CSS, JavaScript, SAML, OAUTH 2.0, Visual Studio, Git, GitHub, Azure DevOps boards and pipelines , ServiceNow, vendor/SaaS software management
  • Willingness to work in a team oriented (not individualistic) way, supporting team members as they also support you.
  • Experience in deployment of new solutions and applications, including training and support.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • 5+ years of industry-relevant experience.
  • Experience/knowledge in Agile SAFe, Kanban and Scrum methodologies.
  • Experience with programs, interfaces, activating and generating pre-defined reports and analytics.
  • Additional certifications or specialized training in relevant areas, especially Microsoft Azure technology certifications.
  • Proven track record of delivering high-quality results on time and on budget.
  • Ability to adapt to changing priorities and work in a fast-paced environment with multiple priorities.
  • Experience working in a legal or regulatory environment.
  • Experience with IronClad Contract Management System
