Job Description:

The Department of Medicine, Division of Nephrology is seeking a full time Application Programmer I. The PRISMAP collaborative is seeking an Application Programmer I. The Application Programmer I will be a member of the data team, possessing an understanding of processes, procedures, and policies.

Essential Functions;

Frontend Application Development
-Write reusable, effective, and scalable JavaScript code, integrating styling frameworks like CSS, Tawilwind, Sass.
-Develop and implement user web and mobile interfaces using modern frameworks such as React.js, Next.js, and React Native, ensuring responsiveness and mobile first design.
-Utilize advanced frontend techniques, including state management with MobX or similar libraries, and manage application processes using tools like PM2.

Backend Application Development
-Design and maintain backend services utilizing Python and JavaScript, leveraging frameworks sucg as FastAPI, Flask, and Express within Node.js.
-Manage API interactions and HTTP network communications effectively, ensuring seamless data exchange and connectivity.
-Develop and uphold robust server-side logic, integrating backend services flawlessly with frontend operations to create a cohesive user experience enhancing both the functionality and interactivity of the application.

System, Data, and Database Management
-Manage database systems such as MySQL, MongoDB and PostgreSQL, designing and optimizing database architectures to support scalability and performance.
-Manage large-scale data processing with tools like Kafka to ensure efficient data throughput and availability for frontend consumption.
-Utilize advanced Python libraries such as Pandas or Numpy to manipulate and analyze data retrieved from databases, optimizing data flow to meet frontend application requirements.
-Perform version control for projects using Git and operation project on Linux and windows platforms.
-Utilize containerization tools such as Docker and Kubernetes to ensure consistent deployment environments, facilitating scalable and reliable application delivery.

Expected Salary:

$52,500 - $60,000 Annually

Minimum Requirements:

Bachelor's degree and one year of appropriate experience. Appropriate college coursework may substitute at an equivalent rate for the required experience.

Preferred Qualifications:

Experience working with image and text data is a plus.
• Experience working with electronic health records (EHR) data is a plus.
• Experience with MySQL, SQL Server, Postgres, Cassandra, and MongoDB is a plus.
• Experience with cloud-based infrastructures and distributed technologies such as Spark and Kafka is a plus.
• Experience with cloud service platform and data warehouses such as AWS, GCP, Azure, Snowflake, Databricks, etc., is a plus.
