Job Description

Periodic checking of OR anesthesia monitors, (EKG, pressure monitors, pulse oximeters, etc.) and recording their status to ensure proper functioning. Daily checking, cleaning, and maintenance of anesthesia machines located in the OR, OB suites or other areas

Checking functionality of all sophisticated anesthesia equipment including but not limited to anesthesia machines, Sonosite ultrasound device, transcranial Doppler, Transesophageal echo device, transcranial 02 monitor and obtain help from Sr. Technologists in correcting malfunctions if necessary

Stocking of Anesthesia carts in teh OR, OB Suite or other areas

Helping Manager and monitoring technologist organize anesthesia equipment and supply, receiving and relaying messages, coming to the equipment room etc.

Minimum Qualifications
1. Satisfactory completion of one year's service as Bio-Medical Technician Trainee; or,
2. Associate Degree which included a course in the appropriate medical technician field at the second year level; or,
3. One academic year of study in an accelerated junior college, college or university which included six semester hours in the health or medical field and/or chemistry or biological sciences, plus a nine-month approved training course in appropriate medical machine technician field; or,
4. Successful completion of an approved program in Operating Room or Surgical Technician, plus two years experience in appropriate medical technician field; or,
5. A satisfactory equivalent combination of education and experience.
6. Employees performing blood analysis require certificates of qualification issued by the New York City Department of Health in the subspecialty of 29 (pH blood gases) or specialty 28 (general clinical chemistry).
