The DoubleTree by Hilton San Jose is looking for their next Assistant Chief Engineer to join their amazing team! This property boasts 505 guest rooms and 45,000+ sq. ft. of banquet/meeting space and is located with minutes of the International Airport, and within 5 miles of downtown and all its attractions.
In this role, you will report directly to the Director of Property Operations and supervise a team of 5-6 team members to efficiently maintain the functionality and safety of the hotel, including the physical building, mechanical equipment, electrical system/s, heating and cooling systems and life safety systems in accordance with local, state and federal laws and regulations.

The ideal candidate for this role will possess:
- Must have strong HVAC, electrical, painting, plumbing and carpentry skills.
- At least two (2) years of experience within hotel operations, building engineering, or maintenance.
- Previous Supervisory/Management experience preferred.
- The ability to work weekdays, evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed.
- Proven leadership skills with excellent attention to detail
- Local 39 experience is also highly desirable.

What will I be doing?
- Assists and acts in the absence of the Director of Property Operations to oversee the functionality and safety of the facility, including the physical buildings, mechanical equipment, electrical system/s, heating and cooling systems, life safety systems and grounds in accordance with local, state, and federal laws and regulations.
- Directs general construction and the installation, maintenance, and repair of all electrical, mechanical, and architectural systems throughout the facility to ensure operational efficiency and safety.
- Assigns, verifies, and documents the completion of all routine maintenance and repairs in the property maintenance management system.
- Communicates with city/county/state officials to ensure the proper maintenance of permits and licenses, to coordinate required inspections and to ensure full compliance with codes, regulations and safety standards to protect the well-being of all guests and team members.
- Assists in the execution of capital projects and property rehabilitations.
- Interviews, trains, supervises, counsels, schedules, and evaluates staff.
