Job Description:

Key Responsibilities:
  • Develop, activate, and deliver on a collaborative annual giving and membership plan
  • Strategically manage relationships as well as build and nurture effective working relationships with alumni, parents, friends, volunteers, and board members.
  • Increase awareness of opportunities related to grants and individual solicitations.
  • Responsible for fundraising budget goals and reporting.
  • Assist in developing and implementing a comprehensive communications plan.
  • Serve as a liaison to the executive council and leadership council.
  • Participate in the planning and implementation of cultivation/stewardship events.
  • Manage the unit development office; ensure best practices in office systems and record keeping; ensure effective use of strategic tools and resources.
  • Oversee Board and committee recruitment and communications.
Travel readiness is required, including possessing a valid driver's license and maintaining a clean driving record. Business-related expenses are reimbursed via a standard accounting process. It is essential to have the capacity to cover expenses with personal funds or a credit card and seek reimbursement accordingly.

Expected Salary:

$62,000-$68,000 commensurate with education and experience

Minimum Requirements:

Masters degree in an appropriate area of specialization; or a bachelors degree in an appropriate area of specialization and one year of relevant experience.

Preferred Qualifications:

The ideal candidate should have:
  • At least three years of experience in development, successfully fundraising, or event planning in a university or performing arts center.
  • Experience in developing, and retaining a high caliber staff, building a team, and creatively organizing and managing them to maximize the support of external constituencies.
  • Strong organizational and operational skills, with confidence in representing the organization.
  • Ability to construct and implement annual strategic development plans, including solicitation strategies.
  • Exceptional attention to detail and experience in strategic planning.
  • Demonstrated support for organizational missions and collaborative focus.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively with stakeholders.
  • Appreciation for workplace diversity, project management skills, and ability to motivate others.
  • Experience in engaging volunteers and upholding ethical fundraising standards.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and donor database systems, with social media awareness being desirable.
