Job Description:

Student engagement: Serves as a career coach to advance students' career and professional development. Designs and delivers customized programming, services and resources to educate and inform students about industry and academic career options associated with majors and artificial intelligence. Provides individual Career Planning appointments for students within the specified college/department based on need and demand. Advises and coaches students individually or in groups regarding various work and experiential learning opportunities, networking and mentoring; Career Center resources and services; and job search strategies. Helps prepare students for post-graduation success through professional and employability skill development. Infuses globalization and intercultural competencies into career education and experiences.

Liaison engagement: Serves as the primary career services liaison for faculty and staff within the university's AI2 Center. Builds relationships and creates connections between stakeholders and the C3 to advance the mission of the Center. Educates faculty and staff in the colleges and the AI2 Center about career resources and collaborates to deliver resources to students via classroom presentations and workshops. Maintains regular communication with the AI2 Center through appropriate channels and attends meetings with academic advisors, faculty members and appointed administrative contacts for the exchange of information and referrals between the AI2 Center and the Career Connections Center. Communicates best practices back to the C3 about the AI2 Center to educate staff on this population of students and faculty.

AI Initiatives: Plans and executes initiatives that align with the AI2 Center and the Career Connections Center's strategic priorities to advance career development and experience/opportunities for students. Leads efforts related to student career readiness to aid in their preparedness for the AI enabled workforce. Creates goals each semester that feature strategy and programming aligned with initiative. Creates resources and programming that can be customized for different populations surrounding the specified initiative. Promotes university initiatives, resources and opportunities to advance AI throughout university community and stakeholders.

Support Functions: Creates proposals and maintains a budget to carry out programming, fairs, technology, student staff employment, marketing materials and operating expenses that align with initiatives for designated college. Develops or customizes existing C3 materials for specific populations in the AI2 Center. Participates in events and services held by/at the C3 and AI2 Center that are focused on all students, employers and campus partners. Participates in and leads committees where applicable. Collaborates with C3 staff and AI2 Center to lead and carryout projects, events, assignments. Performs administrative duties and other functions to support the mission of the Centers as requested.

Evaluation and tracking: Responsible for tracking, assessing and evaluating efforts and runs outcome reports for outreach, student success, engagement and connections for relevant populations. Aids in collecting and maintaining accurate and timely quantitative and qualitative data for various types of interactions for assessment and reporting purposes to demonstrate impact. Maintains up-to-date knowledge of artificial intelligence, employment trends and appropriate career development expertise. Creates data reports after major events to showcase details and shares with appropriate audiences. Shares best practices, industry trends and AI-specific information. Communicates to faculty and staff based on data collected and industry trends to create narrative about AI, student preparedness and value of role.

Expected Salary:

$60,000 annually.

Minimum Requirements:

Master's degree in an appropriate field and three years of experience or a bachelor's degree and five years of related experience.
