Elmhurst Hospital Center (EHC) is the major tertiary care provider in the borough of Queens. Job Description

Under direction of the Director of Health Care Standards, develops and maintains a computerized system for monitoring and assessing quality of medical care and al location of health care resources by Physicians in health care facilities for determining optimal achievable quality of patient care.

Duties & Responsibilities
• Serves as the Departmental lead for the Oncology program
• Conducts various performance measures data abstraction, monitoring, analysis, and presentation:
• Reviews/edits/corrects/revises Fall-Out Reports and inter-rater reliability before data submission.
• Prepares data reports for Departmental meetings and leaders in an effective way and presents to stakeholders
• Works collaboratively with disciplines to analyze trends and patterns with outliers and create concomitant corrective action plans.
• Coordinates and prepares for Oncology meetings including Cancer Conference, quarterly Cancer Committee
• Enters all data and case findings information into Metriq, NCDB, NYS Cancer Registry, CoC {program applications
• Coordinates the annual Cancer symposium
• Ensures ongoing compliance with Commission on Cancer standards and re-accreditation preparedness
• Creates and distributes data draw list reports for patient follow up
• Facilitates and coordinates the Oncology Performance Improvement initiatives
• Coordinates research projects.
• Updates the Commission on Cancer templates monthly with quarterly presentation at Cancer Committee
• Coordinates and conducts quality case reviews
• Coordinates Medical Record review and data collection as appropriate.
• Assists with interpretation and education of Commission on Cancer standards.
• Manage, coordinate, and monitor data collection and analysis on performance improvement, patient safety and continuous compliance related issues as appropriate.
• Assist in assessing organization compliance with accreditation standards and regulations.
• Supports ICARE standards through active role modeling and supervision of staff.
• Develop and provide presentations as needed/assigned.
• Oversees work responsibilities and case load of 2 CTR's
• Other duties as assigned

Minimum Qualifications

  1. A Master' s degree in Arts or Science with a specialization in hospital administration, health care administration, administrative medicine or in public health when conferred for a program in hospital administration, from an approved college or university; or a Baccalaureate degree.
  2. CTR certification required.

• Ability to work within interdisciplinary environment and different levels of staff across departments
• General knowledge of policies and programs utilized in the operation of a health care facility, ability to assimilate and analyze data, to recommend action based on analytical findings, and to assist in the solution of complex problems in health care administration and management
• One year managerial experience and chart review skills
• Minimal 1 yr CTR experience
