Responsibilities
The Office of Admissions is a unit within the Division of Enrollment Management, which is comprised of four distinct units: Office of Admissions , Office of the University Registrar , Office of Financial Aid , and Technology Operations. Enrollment Management's integrated services provide distinctive support throughout the student's development and progression in their academic experience - from recruitment through commencement. Through collaboration, communication, and commitment, all units within Enrollment Management achieve the highest level of student-centered service to current and prospective students and families and to campus partners across the University.
This position is responsible for the management, administrative direction, and coordination of staff, daily operations, groups/VIP, and special events at the Welcome Center.
Responsible for the day-to-day management of all activities and staff in the Welcome Center. Oversees the planning and execution of open houses for prospective and accepted students, counselor visits, as well as VIP and group tours. Responsible for maintaining, updating, developing, and evaluating office procedures. Develops, maintains and coordinates an information flow that is consistent with the recruitment and marketing strategies of the Office of Admissions. Reviews and evaluates policies and procedures, making suggestions, and recommendations to senior leadership. Works extensively with prospective students, parents, high school/college/university counselors, University officials, and the general public regarding all aspects of the University (admissions, housing, financial assistance, programs of study, student life, etc.) in an effort to inform, educate, and field questions concerning the University.
Responsible for managing, planning, coordinating and executing logistical functions related to Office of Admissions for both on and off campus events. Overseeing setup, breakdown, and organization of the rented space, maintaining inventory of materials, maintaining communication with participating students, their families, event attendees and working with third party vendors. Provides guidance on policy and procedures for organizing University events to internal and external stakeholders.
Assists in the evaluation of first-year applications. Assists other sections during peak times in support of the goals of the Office of Admissions.
Evaluates information content for the Welcome Center's website, admission information sessions, and the campus tour/virtual tour scripts, and provides recommendations to senior leadership. Conducts research, compiles statistical data, and evaluates campus tour survey results for review by Senior Leadership. Contributes to long-range planning, provides suggestions and recommendations to senior leadership for the efficient operation of the Welcome Center.
Qualifications
Bachelor's degree and four years of experience related to academic and/or student services; or a high school diploma and eight years of experience related to academic and/or student services (Note: or a combination of post-high school education and experience equal to eight years)

Anticipated Salary Range
Anticipated salary range for this position is around $50,000.00 annually, commensurate with education and experience.

Qualifications

- Applicants must have a valid Driver's License to be eligible for position.
Preferred Qualifications
- A Bachelor's degree in an appropriate area of specialization and two years of complimentary experience preferred.
- We seek enthusiastic candidates who are detail-oriented, and who work well independently as well as in a team.
- Experience reviewing transcripts, and interpreting and applying admissions tests is preferred.
- Candidates should have the ability to review, analyze, formulate, and organize data and information and follow through on assignments.
- Applicants should be able to establish and maintain effective working relationships and be able to communicate effectively verbally and in writing.
- Candidates with a strong sense of initiative and the demonstrated ability to manage multiple responsibilities concurrently are preferred.
- The ability to make sound judgments while working in a deadline-driven environment is essential.
- Qualified candidates will possess the ability to prioritize and organize multiple work assignments simultaneously.
- Experience counseling and/or providing expertise and advice is required.
- Qualified candidates will have experience using Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook or comparable software.
