Under the administrative direction of the Executive Officer (EO), Dental Hygiene Board of California (DHBC), the Staff Services Manager II (SSM II) is responsible for planning, organizing, coordinating, and directing the statewide activities of the Board's Operation, Education, Licensing, and Enforcement Programs. Responsibilities includes the interpretation and implementation of all administrative, licensing, examination, enforcement, and educational program related matters for the Board; and ensuring departmental compliance with statewide administrative policies. Incumbent acts for and represents the Executive Officer in their absence.

Working Conditions
Office is in a secured building with security staff comparable to a typical climate controlled office setting and individual cubicles. Oversee and manage managerial and rank and file staff in all program functions and represent the EO in their absence. The position requires the incumbent to work Monday - Friday, 8:00 AM - 5:00 PM with a future option of a hybrid office/telework schedule depending upon the office environment at that time.

Department Information The Dental Hygiene Board of California (DHBC) is under the oversight of the Department of Consumer Affairs and is the only autonomous dental hygiene governing body in the United States whose primary function is consumer protection. The DHBC is looking for a motivated, efficient, knowledgeable, and reliable individual to join our management team to protect the people of California by upholding dental hygiene standards through the oversight and enforcement of the Dental Practice Act. The DHBC oversees over 38,000 dental hygiene licensees, the dental hygiene educational schools, and has programs in licensing, enforcement, and administration.

The DHBC is located in a secured building near the Royal Oaks light rail station and offers extensive free parking.

Criminal Offender Record Information (CORI) - Title 11, Section 703 (d) of the California Code of Regulations requires criminal record checks of all personnel who have access to Criminal Offender Record Information (CORI). Pursuant to this requirement, applicants for this position will be required to submit fingerprints to the Department of Justice and be cleared before hiring. In accordance to DCA's (CORI) procedures, clearance shall be maintained while employed in a CORI-designated position. Additionally, the position routinely works with sensitive and confidential issues and/or materials and is expected to maintain the privacy and confidentiality of documents and topics pertaining to individuals or to sensitive program matters at all times.

Conflict of Interest (COI) - This position is subject to Title 16, section 3830 of the California Code of Regulations, the Department of Consumer Affaris' Conflict of Interest Regulations. The incumbent is required to submit a Statement of Economic Interests (Form 700) within 30 days of assuming office, annually by April 1st, and within 30 days of leaving office.

Statement of Qualifications Instructions:
