The salary of the finalist selected for this role will be set based on a variety of factors, including but not limited to departmental budgets, qualifications, experience, education, licenses, specialty, and training. The above hiring range represents the University's good faith and reasonable estimate of the range of possible compensation at the time of posting.

Position Summary

Position will provide administrative and supervisory support for the Associate Director as necessary for the Diagnostic Radiology practice. The Assistant Practice Manager will handle all issues related to patient care, quality assurance, policy and procedure, compliance, human resources, marketing and outreach, referring physicians concerns, revenue cycle and operations.

Responsibilities
  • Responsible for creating staffing schedules and ensuring all modalities have adequate coverage; work with local practice managers to provide coverage as needed.
  • Responsible for ordering supplies for Diagnostic Radiology. Communicate with vendors regarding orders and deliveries. Reviews and prepares all invoices for Director's approval.
  • Responsible for monitoring staff productivity for call volume, authorizations, scheduling; work with departmental leadership on the implementation of any strategic initiatives.
  • Under the direction of the Associate Director, assist in all regulatory and compliance activities
  • Assists with departmental purchase orders as needed.
  • Takes measures to correct and/or resolve situations and ensures that appropriate personnel are involved in consultation with the Associate Director.
  • With the direction of the Associate Director, trains staff and tracks departmental productivity and compliance with HR Policy and Procedure.
  • In the absence of the Associate Director, directs the activities of the staff with authority to discipline and make decisions.
  • Works with the radiologists on a daily basis as needed to facilitate workflow and patient care.
  • Assists with addressing patient concerns and implementing Departmental goals to meet and exceed target patient satisfaction scores.
  • Assists in coordination with other key management leaders in overseeing scheduling as it relates to Radiology PACS system, EPIC and patient flow.
  • Trains and covers staff vacations for the front desk.
  • Acts as the liaison between all other radiology facilities within the Columbia/NYP network.
  • Works with the Director on Departmental projects including but not limited to install/upgrade of equipment, IT upgrades, strategic initiatives to promote increase in practice volume and implementation of new programs/projects.
  • Performs other related duties as necessary.

Minimum Qualifications
  • Requires a bachelor's degree or equivalent in education and experience with 3 years of related experience; previous supervisory experience preferred.
  • Must have strong interpersonal and organizational skills; ability to handle confidential information with judgment and discretion; ability to set priorities and handle multiple projects.
  • Efficiency in a highly pressured environment is required.
  • Must have proficiency with Microsoft Office.
  • Must have excellent customer service skills and commitment to exceptional quality.
