The University of Texas Southwestern Medical Center is seeking an Assistant Professor in Cancer Genomics for the Peter O'Donnell Jr. School of Public Health and the Quantitative Biomedical Research Center. The successful candidate will have a PhD in bioinformatics, genomics, computational biology, or a related field, and experience in cancer genomics research.

The Quantitative Biomedical Research Center (QBRC) is a well-established research center at UTSW that develops innovative quantitative and data science methodology and fosters collaborations involving quantitative methods and technologies in all aspects of biomedical research. The appointed Assistant Professor will have opportunities for independent research in cancer genomics and collaborative applied analytics in partnership with other researchers.

The appointed faculty member will also participate in instruction and mentoring of the next generation of quantitative leaders as part of the Peter O'Donnell Jr. School of Public Health School. UT Southwestern is establishing a 21st-century School of Public Health cemented in its core research strengths and reinforced through integral collaboration with area institutions and health systems. UTSW has more than 2,800 full-time faculty who garner more than $524 million in annual grant funding for research. UTSW's outstanding Peter O'Donnell Jr. School of Public Health has a substantial research portfolio and emerging leadership in population health, which will serve as the foundation for building the new school.

Through its own and affiliated health systems - Parkland Health & Hospital System, Children's Health, Texas Health Resources, the VA North Texas Health Care System, and Texas Scottish Rite for Children - UTSW physicians are central to the care of millions of residents in North Texas.
