Full-time medical geneticist to provide services in clinical genetics and inborn errors of metabolism.

The qualified candidate will provide care for children and adults with genetic conditions and inborn errors of metabolism in both inpatient and outpatient settings.

As an academic pediatric department, opportunities exist for clinical teaching of medical students and residents.

Clinical research opportunities are also available.

Position is for a full-time Assistant Professor on the tenure track.

Qualifications

Medical geneticist.

Candidates for the position must have ABMG active candidate status or certification as a clinical geneticist and/or clinical biochemical geneticist and be active in maintenance of certification.

About the Department

The Division of Genetics and Metabolism is an outstanding environment for genetic services. Genetics division members provide care for a diverse group of patients.

As the largest center for inborn errors of metabolism in the upper Midwest, we have a robust long-term follow-up program for children identified through expanded newborn screening.

The Department of Pediatrics is a large academic department with over 100 full-time faculty and ranks in the top 10 nationally in NIH funding.

Children are cared for at the University of Minnesota Masonic Children's Hospital, opened in 2011.
