Job Summary
Under direct supervision from the Strategic Director, the Assistant Project Manager will be responsible for the management, performance, and successful completion of small projects or specified phases of larger projects within the Mechanical Engineering department. The role is essential in coordinating the activities of strategic work teams, identifying necessary resources, developing schedules, and ensuring projects are completed on time. The Assistant Project Manager will work on initiatives aligned with the department's strategic goals in Education and Research to prepare students for a rapidly changing world and advance future research directions.

Responsibilities*
50% Oversee the management and execution of small projects or specific phases of larger projects.
Develop project schedules and track milestones to ensure on-time completion.
Coordinate activities among project team members and facilitate effective communication.
Identify and allocate necessary resources for project completion.
Regularly report project status to the Strategic Director.
25% - Assist in projects aimed at delivering an exceptional mechanical engineering education.
Foster equity-centered, inclusive, and engaging educational experiences for students.
Support our educational pillar committee to provide clear educational pathways to prepare students in addressing significant global challenges.
25% - Engage in projects designed to advance the department's research priorities.
Enhance collaboration with internal and external partners, including colleges, universities, industries, and beyond.
Promote innovation, creativity, and diversity within research initiatives.
Skills You Have

Required Qualifications*
A Bachelor's degree in Business, Project Management, or a related field.
Less than two years of experience in project management or a relevant field.
Demonstrated ability to coordinate project activities and facilitate communication among team members.
Familiarity with project objectives and the roles of team members.
Excellent organizational and time management skills.
Modes of Work
Positions that are eligible for hybrid or mobile/remote work mode are at the discretion of the hiring department. Work agreements are reviewed annually at a minimum and are subject to change at any time, and for any reason, throughout the course of employment. Learn more about the work modes .

Working Conditions:
Normal office environment with occasional requirements to attend meetings or events inside or outside of regular working hours.
This position is partially remote.
May require occasional moving of lightweight supplies and equipment.
A higher salary may be considered for an extraordinarily qualified candidate.
