Job Description:

Reynolds is one of the largest community colleges in Virginia and serves Virginia's capital city and five nearby counties. Annually, our four campus sites serve approximately 13,000 credit students and provide training for 7,400 students through the Community College Workforce Alliance. Under the direction of the Dean this position works under broad, administrative direction with significant responsibility in planning, organizing, and managing services associated with academic advising, outreach/admissions, information, testing, student employment, cooperative education, orientation, career planning, academic support, student discipline, and student behavioral intervention. Responds to inquiries from College departments, educational institutions, the community, students, and/or external agencies and supervises academic professional, classified, technical/support, and student staff. The Associate Dean provides direction in developing, expanding, revising, improving, and ensuring the successful operation of multiple functional areas.

Minimum Qualifications:

Education equivalate to a Master's Degree in one or more of the disciplines in SBIT or student affairs, student personnel administration, education, educational leadership, public administration, or another related field. Minimum of three years of experience leading and coordinating the work of other staff; preparing and monitoring budgets; and performing program planning/management and administrative work in the area of student services or student support programs in higher education. Demonstrated working knowledge of work-based learning principles and practices. Demonstrated skill in preparing a variety of reports related to departmental activities, including statistical analysis; and coordinating the preparation and publication of a variety of reports and/or promotional materials. Demonstrated skill in developing and managing a budget; evaluating assigned programmatic area for compliance with applicable regulations; and conducting research to identify solutions, resolve problems, or provide information. Utilizing strong presentation and public speaking skills, ability to develop and facilitate information sessions, presentations, and/or workshops. Demonstrated ability to develop, recommend, implement, and monitor policies, procedures, and work flow. Demonstrated ability to supervise and provide leadership to subordinate staff; to include mediating conflict. Demonstrated ability to communicate and work effectively with multi-cultural populations, and a commitment to increasing diversity and inclusion. Demonstrated ability to utilize current computer systems and technology for communication, data gathering and reporting activities. The selected candidate will be required to complete the Commonwealth's Statement of Economic Interest.

Preferred Qualifications:

At least three years of full-time faculty equivalent teaching experience at post-secondary institution(s). Four or more years of full-time teaching experience at a two-year post-secondary institution; and four or more years of administrative experience at a post-secondary institution.
