As an Associate Environmental Planner based in any of our Northern California offices, you'll have the opportunity to work on local projects as well as projects throughout the U.S. and abroad. Jacobs environmental planners do a wide variety of work. You'll use and increase your knowledge of California Environmental Quality Act (CEQA) and National Environmental Policy Act (NEPA) and other environmental regulations to prepare environmental documentation and obtain permits and approvals for our clients. You'll have the opportunity to grow your technical and leadership skills while leading planning and permitting efforts in order to avoid and/or minimize environmental impacts for a variety of infrastructure projects. *This position can sit in either Oakland, Sacramento, Redding, or San Francsico.

• Bachelor's degree in Environmental Planning, Environmental Science, Biology, Ecology, Cultural Resources, or a related field
• Proficiency preparing CEQA and NEPA analyses and documentation
• Experience supporting infrastructure projects for state and local government agencies
• Ability to foster relationships with project teams, clients, clients' contractors, and regulatory agency staff
• Excellent writing and communication skills

Ideally, you'll also have:
• Master's degree in Environmental Planning or a related field
• Experience managing tasks and small projects and interest in supporting larger and more complex projects
• Experience delegating tasks and mentoring junior staff
• Additional, specific experience related to delivering environmental planning or permitting projects and obtaining project approvals from regulatory agencies
• Interest in developing relationships with staff at state and local government agencies and supporting business development efforts

The base salary range for this position is $81,100 to $126,750. This range reflects the minimum and maximum target for new hire salaries for the position across all US locations [add if remote]. Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training.
