The incumbent for this position will serve as an Associate Hydroelectric Power Utility Engineer, engaging in interesting and complex power planning studies, in support of the State Water Project (SWP) and water delivery. Under direction of the Power Resources Unit Senior HEP Utility Engineer (Supervisor), the incumbent Associate Hydroelectric Power Utility Engineer is responsible for performing energy demand and supply optimization studies as part of DWR's integrated resource planning for the State Water Project (SWP); assisting in developing strategies to meet renewable and green house gas portfolio standards; and developing strategies that will promote stable and cost-effective water deliveries.

A successful candidate will have the ability to master new concepts and develop technical reports.
