Universal Orlando Resort believes in-person collaboration is key to our success. Many of our Team Members work in a hybrid capacity, contributing from the workplace a minimum of three days per week. POSITION SUMMARY:

Responsible for the successful innovation, logistics planning, financial assessment, and execution of events across UO resort property (Epic Universe and at times, USF, IOA, CW, VB, and Loews properties). Empowered as the project manager to create vision, cultivate relationships, collaborate with and delegate duties to internal partners and external vendors, strategize and problem solve all event elements to completion. This position deals primarily with the preview and Grand Opening events for Epic Universe and may also be asked to assist other Event Managers on projects as required. Position requires a degree of tact as this person may work or engage with Executives, Talent and VIPs and Sales Clients. In addition to event planning and logistics execution, this position may oversee site inspection and create event documentation as needed. Requires great flexibility, superb interpersonal skills, impeccable organizational and time management skills to ensure intricate details associated with executing complex meetings and events is managed well.

Individual is also in a supporting role when it comes to the execution of some of our larger, more complex meetings and events as well as other channels within the Event Management team.

MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Responsible for all aspects of special events including client contact, logistical planning, menu planning and creative concepts to ensure event success. Communication, inclusive phone, email, and prospectus paperwork, with various internal departments and external vendors regarding multiple events. Responsible for on-site management of events, client site inspections, follow up paperwork and duties as assigned.
  • Individual brings together all facets of an event by working cross-divisionally with our UO internal partners (Ops, Security, Attractions, Entertainment, Catering, Rev Ops, Parking, Entrance Operations, etc.), pulling appropriate elements together and executing a flawless event.
  • Ensures timely delivery of all elements in a fast-paced, quick turnaround environment. Provides on-site management while executing all events and has a flexible schedule.
  • Delivers superior execution and maintain above average ratings while maintaining strong scores within the Event Manager Characteristics competency (Knowledge, Professionalism, Flexibility, Responsiveness, Accessibility, Communication, and Creativity).
  • Completes departmental projects as assigned by manager.
  • Understand and actively participate in Environmental, Health & Safety responsibilities by following established UO policy, procedures, training, and team member involvement activities.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

EDUCATION:
  • Bachelor's degree in Event Management or related field.

EXPERIENCE:
  • 1+ Years: general experience in event planning, Theme-park experience, Universal Orlando Resort product knowledge and VIP experience is preferred ; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION:

Microsoft Office, Excel, PowerPoint, computer literate, writes well, Electronic Mail, Project Management, planning & scheduling, operations experience, communicates clearly, works well individually and with a team, conceptual thinker, conducts presentations, creativity, current on industry trends, customer service skills, flexibility, can multi-task and has organizational skills.
