Job Description:

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Develop and Lead Insight Initiatives:
Develop, implement, and lead constituent insight initiatives such as brand awareness, attitudinal segmentation, and perception monitoring. Ensure these initiatives provide actionable insights to support the strategic goals of the university units/schools.
  • Consult and Identify Research Needs:
Consult with university units/schools to identify their research needs and requirements. Develop research methodologies, write proposals, design survey questionnaires, analyze survey results, and present findings and recommendations.
  • Provide Insights and Analysis:
Utilize primary and secondary research, syndicated sources, and other analyses to deliver actionable solutions. Maintain a thorough understanding of the latest research techniques and emerging insight practices, especially in non-traditional areas.
  • Supplier Management:
Manage the selection, activities, and work of external suppliers to ensure projects are focused, cost-efficient, accurate, and completed promptly.
  • Budget Management:
Develop and manage the market research budget, ensuring effective allocation and utilization of resources.
  • Team Management and Development:
Manage, develop, and train direct reports and student employees on the Consumer Insights team. Partner with internal customer intelligence, marketing analytics, and other teams to provide thought leadership on constituent insights.

  • Requires the ability to travel up to 40% of the time to engage with various stakeholders and attend relevant conferences or meetings.
  • Communicates regularly with internal departments, executive leadership, and external partners to share insights, align strategies, and support the organization's goals.
  • Develop annual research budgets and manage vendor proposals.
  • The position handles sensitive data with care, ensuring secure storage and restricted access. Adhering to confidentiality agreements and data protection regulations and implementing best data privacy practices. Maintaining data integrity and confidentiality is crucial to protecting the organization's reputation and stakeholder trust.
  • This position exercises significant creativity by incorporating innovative research techniques and strategic thinking to align long-term plans with organizational goals. This role provides strong leadership in mentoring a team, fostering cross-functional collaboration, and solving complex problems through informed decision-making and actionable recommendations.
Expected Salary:

Salary is commensurate with education and experience.

Minimum Requirements:

Master's degree in an appropriate area of specialization and seven years of appropriate experience; or a bachelor's degree in an appropriate area of specialization and nine years of appropriate experience.

Preferred Qualifications:

Master's/Ph.D. in research-related disciplines
