Assistant Director of Intake/Admissions Opportunity

The Assistant Director of Admissions provides effective leadership within the Admissions Department and the ability to organize admission staff to effectively and timely serve patients, families, referral sources through the referral and admission process. This position has supervisory responsibilities including assisting the Director of Admissions with interviewing, hiring, and training of new employees as well as appraising performance, disciplining employees, addressing complaints, and resolving problems.

The Assistant Admissions Director is accountable for assisting in management of the department, providing training and supervision for Intake staff, crisis intervention, and responding to referrals appropriately. This position interfaces closely with both internal hospital staff, facility physicians, as well as external referrals including hospitals, patients, families, and community referral sources. This position will assist in daily administrative duties and will assist the Admissions Director in assigned tasks including completing staffing schedules, reports, quality improvement, and assuring compliance with all policy and procedures and applicable mental health laws, codes, rules, and regulations. Assists Director of Admission Services with 24/7 responsibility for the department.

Qualifications

Master's Degree in Human Service field (e.g. Social Work, Counseling, Psychology, etc.); or Registered Nurse. 1-3 years of experience preferred in psychiatric health care. Licensed Registered Nurse, LCSW, LPC, LMFT preferred.
