About the role:

Our client (prop trading firm) is looking for a skilled automation enigneer to join their team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for designing, implementing, and maintaining automation systems that improve efficiency, reduce errors, and optimize processes across various functions across their firm. This role requires a blend of technical expertise in automation technologies, problem-solving skills, and a keen understanding of operational processes.

What will you be doing?

  • Design and deploy automation solutions, such as robotic process automation (RPA), automated testing frameworks, and workflow automation.
  • Partner with cross-functional teams to grasp process requirements and spot automation opportunities.
  • Develop and sustain code for automation scripts and frameworks. Set up and integrate automation tools and software as needed for projects.
  • Conduct comprehensive testing of automated systems to guarantee reliability, effectiveness, and compatibility with current systems.
  • Offer continuous maintenance and support for automation solutions. Diagnose and fix issues to ensure minimal downtime.
  • Keep updated on emerging automation technologies and methodologies. Recommend and implement enhancements to existing automation systems.
  • Collaborate closely with IT, software development, and operational teams to ensure automation solutions are aligned with business goals.

Skills and Experience:

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
  • 3+ years of proven experience as an Automation Engineer or in a similar role.
  • Experience working in a Linux environment
  • Strong programming skills in Python
  • Knowledge of Bash and SQL or similar database language is necessary
  • Experience with automation tools and frameworks (e.g., Ansible, Docker)
