We are seeking an Automation Engineer to join our team immediately. This role is responsible for ensuring that new model equipment builds meet both client and customer SQCD (Safety, Quality, Cost, Delivery) requirements. The ideal candidate will ensure that machinery and equipment are capable of producing high-quality products safely and efficiently.

You will be responsible for but not limited to the following:

Project Management: Employ the PDCA (Plan-Do-Check-Act) cycle to manage equipment suppliers, ensuring that new model expectations and client specifications are met.

Equipment Procurement: Apply the SQCD format when procuring equipment, ensuring that process design and capital investment align with internal expectations.

Technical Support: Offer technical support for production and maintenance teams to troubleshoot and maintain automated processes.

Training: Train associates on the operation of new equipment to ensure proper use and integration.

Equipment Design/Design Evaluation: Design and create equipment and fixtures to enhance production processes. Review part drawings and sketches to understand product design and specifications for the development of manufacturing equipment.

Equipment Modification/Programming: Update and modify existing equipment and fixtures to meet evolving process requirements. Develop, control, and modify programs for various control systems, including CNC, PLC, MMI, etc.

Kaizen Participation: Contribute to Kaizen activities to continuously improve processes and efficiencies.

Installation & Debugging: Utilize the PDCA cycle for the installation and debugging of new equipment.

What you will need to be successful in this role:

Have proven experience with complex mechanical designs and various control systems for automated machine operations.

Have the knowledge of Quality Management System (QMS) practices and procedures.

Support for any client-specific certifications. Strong computer skills, including proficiency in Microsoft Office, PLC/MMI programming, AutoCAD, and basic communication tools.

The position would require an Associate's Degree or equivalent experience in developing manufacturing assembly equipment.
