Classification Summary:Provides leadership and management for core university business operations. Provides strategic and operational direction, resource planning, policy and systems development in support of the institution's mission and goals.

Classification Standard Duties:Directs and oversees various university wide business functions. Establishes and evaluates unit goals, objectives and procedures to maximize operational effectiveness. Ensures services are delivered in an effective manner that supports the needs of the university. Ensures that operations are compliant with all laws, regulations and policies Responsible for the fiscal operations of the organization, and the establishment of internal control systems. Evaluates policy and procedures for system or process improvements Participates in development, implementation and maintenance of policies, objectives, short-and long-range planning; develops and implements projects and programs to assist in accomplishment of established goals. Supervises personnel, which includes problem resolution, work allocation, training, promotion, and enforcement of internal procedures and controls; evaluates performance and makes recommendations for personnel actions; motivates employees to achieve peak productivity and performance. Represents the organization at various community and/or business meetings, committees, and task forces; promotes existing and new programs and/or policies. Performs miscellaneous job-related duties as assigned.

Required Education, Experience, Certification/License, Equivalency

Job Duties and Responsibilities

Reporting to the Vice President for Administration and Finance, this is an exciting opportunity to serve NMSU. Auxiliary Services touches every student and employee on a regular basis, as well as visitors to the campus. The Auxiliary Operations Officer leads NMSU's auxiliary business services including managed services and third-party contracts. Evaluate performance toward MCA metrics and support cross-functional synergies to enhance value of service areas with focus on the campus and customer experience. Serve as primary point of contact for contracted services to ensure adherence to service levels and contract terms. Ensure fiscal responsibility and accountability for business operations and asset management. Promote and enforce university policies, procedures, controls and compliance with standards and regulations. Foster an environment that supports collaboration, safety, and customer service. Assist units with goal achievements and continuous improvement.
