Role Summary/Purpose:

Synchrony is looking for a talented and passionate Scrum Master to join our team, focused on building new capabilities as part of the API Shared Services ART.

As AVP Digital Scrum Master, you'll be responsible for leading two Agile scrum teams, focused on building the APIs that power our Statements capabilities, and driving delivery of API integrations.

This role is responsible for collaborating with digital product owners, technical leads, clients and other stakeholders in delivering a seamless and speedy experience for customers who are servicing their account in mobile web, web and native channels.

The ideal candidate will have a strong project management background with a focus on technology, API development and the Agile framework, as well as high technical acumen and a proven track record of delivering critical initiatives .

Essential Responsibilities:
  • Passionate about leading development teams with a servant leadership mentality
  • Work with client teams and business to shape client requirements and provide ongoing communication through project execution
  • Generate process reports indicating velocity, burn-down, etc.
  • Communicate and facilitate effectively across diverse audiences within and outside of the Agile Team (program peers, key stakeholders, executives and clients)
  • Manage a diverse development team consisting of application architects, application engineers, quality engineers, and third-party contractors.
  • Coach Agile behavior, leading by example
  • Facilitate Agile Ceremonies: Daily Scrum, Backlog Refinement, Sprint Planning, Demos/Reviews, Retrospectives, and release planning.
  • Manage Sprints - keeping order, process, delivery, priorities accurate and on time
  • Keep scrum team focused on concrete priorities while keeping outside influences from disrupting the Scrum team and actively identify and remove waste and distractions
  • Work with Product Owners and QA team to ensure that testing and feedback is completed in a timely manner and meeting the Sprint timelines
  • Advocate for autonomous, self-organizing, empowered, and continuously improving teams
  • Participate as part of the Synchrony Innovation Station in contributing and leading innovation activities and practices with the full cross-functional product team and in partnership with the other Synchrony Innovation Stations.
  • Perform other duties and/or special projects as assigned

Qualifications/Requirements:
  • Bachelor's Degree and 4+ years of IT experience or equivalent leadership program experience, or in lieu of degree High School Diploma/GED and 8+ years of IT experience.
  • Experience in developing and implementing information systems and project management experience

Desired Characteristics:
  • Demonstrated ability to work with cross-functional teams, software developers in particular
  • Passion for Agile and experience helping teams become more Agile
  • Previous experience with enterprise-level Authentication and Authorization frameworks
  • Participated in management of projects and implementations with both large and small corporate organizations
  • Experience working in SAFe / scaled Agile a plus
  • Experience with JIRA, Confluence and other Atlassian products; fluency in MS Office
  • Superior organization skills and adept at multi-tasking
  • Excellent written and verbal interpersonal and communication skills
  • An analytical approach to problem solving and trouble shooting
  • A "can do" and flexible attitude with an ability to hit the ground running and learn on your feet
  • High level of initiative and can work well in a team environment

Grade/Level: 11

The salary range for this position is 90,000.00 - 155,000.00 USD Annual and is eligible for an annual bonus based on individual and company performance.

Actual compensation offered within the posted salary range will be based upon work experience, skill level or knowledge.

Salaries are adjusted according to market in CA, NY Metro and Seattle.

Eligibility Requirements:
  • You must be 18 years or older
  • You must have a high school diploma or equivalent
  • You must be willing to take a drug test, submit to a background investigation and submit fingerprints as part of the onboarding process
  • You must be able to satisfy the requirements of Section 19 of the Federal Deposit Insurance Act.
  • N ew hires (Level 4-7) must have 9 months of continuous service with the company before they are eligible to post on other roles. Once this new hire time in position requirement is met, the associate will have a minimum 6 months' time in position before they can post for future non-exempt roles. Employees, level 8 or greater, must have at least 18 months' time in position before they can post. All internal employees must consistently meet performance expectations and have approval from your manager to post (or the approval of your manager and HR if you don't meet the time in position or performance expectations).
