Job Title: Network Engineer

Location: Washington, DC (Hybrid)

Job Summary:

We are seeking an experienced Network Engineer to join our team in Washington, DC. This hybrid role will involve designing, implementing, and managing complex network infrastructures across cloud and on-premise environments. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience with Cisco technologies, routing and switching protocols, TCP/IP, and cloud networking in Microsoft Azure. A Cisco Certified Network Professional (CCNP) certification is required.

Key Responsibilities:

• Design, deploy, and manage network infrastructures, including LAN, WAN, and cloud environments (Azure).
• Configure and maintain Cisco routers, switches, firewalls, and other network devices.
• Ensure network performance, availability, and security by troubleshooting complex issues and implementing proactive measures.
• Implement and manage routing protocols (BGP, OSPF, EIGRP) and switching technologies (VLANs, VTP, STP).
• Work closely with cloud engineers to integrate and optimize network connectivity in Azure.
• Monitor network traffic, diagnose issues, and implement solutions using network management tools.
• Assist in the planning and execution of network upgrades, expansions, and cloud migrations.
• Ensure network security by enforcing firewalls, VPNs, and access control policies.
• Document network configurations, processes, and troubleshooting procedures.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to support business initiatives and provide network expertise.
• Ensure compliance with company and regulatory network standards.

Qualifications:

• 5+ years of experience as a network engineer, with expertise in Cisco routing and switching.
• Hands-on experience with Microsoft Azure networking, including Virtual Networks (VNets), ExpressRoute, and VPN Gateway.
• Strong understanding of TCP/IP, routing protocols (BGP, OSPF, EIGRP), and switching technologies (VLANs, trunking, STP).
• Active CCNP (Cisco Certified Network Professional) certification required.
• Familiarity with network security best practices, including firewalls, VPNs, and access controls.
• Experience with network monitoring tools (SolarWinds, Wireshark, etc.).
• Excellent troubleshooting skills and ability to diagnose and resolve complex network issues.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Experience with cloud-based networking in hybrid environments.
• Familiarity with network automation tools and scripting (Python, Ansible).
• Azure certifications (e.g., Azure Network Engineer Associate) are a plus.
