Backend Engineer

Insight Global is searching for a Backend Software Engineer to join the growing team within a Crypto currency enterprise. This person will be responsible for solving complex problems that will directly influence the direction of the digital asset space. The codebase is written in Scala within an AWS cloud environment. This person would be impacting the build and scaling of the consumer products. We are a team of self-starters, self-driven owners. Theres a wide range of problems to solve from properly securing millions of dollars worth of customer funds, to developing innovative new blockchain products, to building highly-available and high-scale systems on the cloud, to building anomaly detection models to identify risky behavior. We have a strong culture of code reviews, and a focus on security, with the end goal of writing and shipping high-quality code by getting things right the first time. We want to continue building the best product we can as we scale and grow our business. This role is local to New York or Seattle area and required onsite two days a week. Exact compensation may vary based on several factors, including skills, experience, location and education. Required Skills & Experience

5 + years of backend engineering experience on consumer facing platforms
Experience working with Scala and other JVM languages such as Java & Kotlin
Experience building microservices in an AWS cloud environment working with Kubernetes, Dynamo, EKS, EC2, Cloud Watch, SQS, Queuing
Excellent communication skills as part of a team and an induvial contributor who has a customer / product focused mindset
Expertise in unit and integration testing to ensure the reliability and stability of delivered features
Experience with monitoring and performance analysis tooling and techniques
