This posting will be used for 30 days to conduct ongoing recruitment and will remain open until the position and/or positions have been filled.
Unit is Forensic (FTU).

Why does the job exist?

Incumbent will provide direct psychological services and treatment coordination at t¿¿e Forensic Division of NMBHI. Assist licensed psychologists with psychometric testing to assist in competency restoration assessment and treatment.

How does it get done?

Incumbent assesses patients to aid in determining diagnosis, treatment needs and recommendations, need for hospitalization, response to treatment and prognosis of patients. Conducts psychometrics and provides documentation of assessment results using a standard format.

Ideal Candidate

Ideal candidate will have:
Experience working with treatment planning;
Experience working with providing direct effective treatment to patients;
Experience working with various psychotherapeutic modalities;
Experience working with mentally ill; and
Experience as a supervisor;
Experience administering psychometric testing and scoring under the supervision of la licensed psychologist.

Minimum Qualification

Licensure in New Mexico as an LISW, LCSW, LMFT, LPCC, or LPAT and three (3) years of experience as it pertains to the essential duties and responsibilities of the classification.

2. CRIMINAL RECORDS BACKGROUND CHECK-Must successfully complete post offer pre-employment criminal records background check. Employment is conditional pending the results of criminal records background checks. Must possess and maintain a valid driver's license. Successful completion of the Health Insurance Portability & Accountability Act (HIPAA).

Working Conditions

Position will perform work primarily in an office setting with extensive computer and phone usage and exposure to Visual/Video Display Terminal. Lifting up to thirty (30) pounds might be required. Effective 1-1-2015, the New Mexico Behavioral Health Institute became a 10d percent Tobacco Free/E-Cigarette Free Campus. As such, no tobacco, tobacco products or E-Cigarette products are permitted on any part of the campus. This position is within the Forensic Division of NMBHI. Work hours are 8 am to 5 pm.
