Job Summary:

The Benefits Manager is responsible for overseeing and managing employee benefit programs within the organization. This role includes developing, implementing, and administering benefits policies and programs, ensuring alignment with company goals and legal requirements. The Benefits Manager will also engage in competitive analysis and market research to recommend and implement optimal benefit solutions.

Essential Job Duties and Responsibilities
  • Program Administration: Oversee all company benefit programs such as health and welfare plans, retirement plans, leaves of absence, and voluntary benefits.
  • Inquiry Management: Address and resolve benefit-related inquiries and concerns promptly, providing advice and counsel to management and employees regarding existing benefits.
  • Vendor & Broker Collaboration: Partner with brokers and vendors to analyze utilization and claims data, identify trends, and suggest improvements or modifications to plans. Maintain strong relationships and effective communication with benefit providers.
  • Benefit Changes: Manage updates and changes to benefits including enrollments, life-change events, and terminations.
  • Communication: Draft and distribute various benefit-related communications, ensuring they are legally compliant and up-to-date.
  • Reporting & Compliance: Ensure timely completion and submission of required reports and audits such as Form 5500s, ACA reporting, and nondiscrimination testing. Provide necessary data to consultants and auditors.
  • System Management: Oversee benefit system setup and ensure accurate administration of benefits using HRIS and payroll systems.
  • COBRA Administration: Manage compliance with COBRA regulations.
  • M&A Support: Provide support during mergers and acquisitions to integrate benefit and compensation programs effectively.
  • Compensation Programs: Support the development, design, implementation, communication, and administration of compensation-related programs and policies.
