The role you'll contribute:

Responsible for the oversight of efficient flow of the operational aspects of revenue cycle impacting behavioral health facility billing processes of the Behavioral Health Service Line with particular focus on accurate and timely charge entry and charge processing, service authorization, identification and support of issues impacting charge payments. Mentors professional billing revenue position and examines existing facility and professional Behavioral Health billing processes through entire revenue cycle to determine those processes which are adversely impacting on facility billing collections utilizing LEAN value optimization processes. Scope of Behavioral Health revenue work includes, but is not limited to, Behavioral Health Service Line program billing, system facility Behavioral Health revenue in partnership with revenue leadership, Integrated Behavioral Health (IBH) revenue, in partnership with CHPG leadership, system psychiatric assessment service revenue in conjunction with professional billing position, CHPG and facility sponsors. Implements improvements with the support of Centura revenue and hospital leadership and monitors outcomes. Reports directly to the Behavioral Health initiative director and indirectly to finance leadership to provide critical information related to issues impacting on Behavioral Health service line and system behavioral health revenue. Indirectly oversees billing support activities of other nonprimary billing behavioral health staff in supporting revenue capture work. Demonstrates solid understanding and knowledge of managed care contracting related to facility billing. Maintains reports of accounts, charges and payments and works with system leadership to address issues with revenue cycle that are impacting collections or negatively impacting patient accounts. Facilitate patient financial plan and support scheduling for TMS, ECT, IOP service delivery. Requires knowledge of Behavioral health service operations, behavioral health billing regulations, organizational procedures, and a continuous use of technical or business vocabulary. Requires strong/positive telephone skills and customer service performance. Maintain skill set to fill in for any operational position when necessary, within assigned practices. Act as a system resource, liaison and subject matter expert related to behavioral health specific billing requirements and optimal practices.

  • Supports the BH program patient registration process and completes registration entry when necessary.
  • Supports authorization, timely charge entry, charge reconciliation and other key processes impacting service line financial outcomes.


Qualifications
The expertise and experiences you'll need to succeed:
  • High School Diploma or GED
  • 1-3 years previous in behavioral health revenue cycle process, and/or physician billing practice experience
